How To Lubricate Pressure Washer Pump

The best way to lubricate a pressure washer pump is to use a light oil, such as WD-40. You’ll want to do this before you start using the pressure washer and periodically during the process. You’ll want to make sure the pump is completely dry before you apply the oil. Here are the steps to lubricate pressure washer pump:

  1. Turn off the water flow from the hose that leads into the pump. This will prevent any debris from entering the pump housing and cause clogging of the pump.
  2. Pour some light oil (WD-40, for example) into an old spray bottle. Make sure that the bottle itself isn’t made of plastic. Plastic bottles can hold on to moisture and then cause the pump not to work properly.
  3. Using a clean rag, wipe down the inside of the bottle and make sure there’s no residue left behind from previous uses. If you have a used bottle, throw that one away. Don’t worry about washing out the bottle because you’re going to be reusing it later.
  4. Close the lid of the bottle and shake well to get all of the oil mixed together. The reason why you want to mix the oil with the rag is so that when you put it onto the pump, it doesn’t drip all over the place.
  5. Place the rag soaked in oil onto the intake valve. Make sure that you don’t press too hard onto the pump; just lightly rub the rag back and forth across the intake valve.
  6. Repeat Step 5 once more on the other side of the intake valve.
  7. After you’ve done Steps 1 through 6, check if you can still turn on the water flow into the pump. If yes, continue with Steps 7 through 10.
  8. Once the water flow has been turned on again, take a look at the pump nozzle to see whether or not there are any drops of oil dripping down. If there are, pour a little bit more of the oil into the bottle and repeat Steps 2 through 4.
  9. Continue repeating Steps 1 through 9 until you no longer see any oil drips coming out of the nozzle.
  10. Now it’s time to test the pump by running it through its full range of motion. If you can successfully run the pump without having any problems, then congratulations! Your pump is now ready to go. Just remember to keep up regular maintenance.
  11. For added protection, consider applying a thin coating of silicone around the area where the nozzle attaches to the pump body. Doing this will help protect against corrosion and also reduce friction between the two parts.
  12. Remember to always wash the rag after you’ve finished cleaning the pump.
  13. Keep the liquid stored in the bottle cool and away from direct sunlight. Avoid putting it near heat sources like ovens and radiators.
  14. Check the oil level frequently; if you notice that it’s dropping low, replace the bottle immediately. Also, make sure that you rotate the bottle when pouring the oil out (this will ensure that all of the oil gets poured).

I love gardening because it is a wonderful way to feel grounded, calm and connected to the earth. There are many things about gardening that I enjoy; picking flowers in the summer, planting vegetables in the fall, and harvesting produce in the winter. I also love how beautiful my garden is, watching plants grow into tall trees or being able to see all of my hard work unfold every year🎕🎕.
Its really help me to killing time and its also relaxing.
