Superb Best Soil For Snake Plant! (2021)

Since snake plants are easily rotted, they require well-draining and best soil for snake plant.

Ensure adequate drainage with a soilless potting mix.

You should also use terracotta pots that don’t trap water inside..

..and remove any standing water from the saucer as soon as possible.

Sansevieria plants need a loose, well-drained potting mix.

Plants that grow well in sandier soils are this one.

Pick a potting medium low in peat, which eventually packs and cannot rehydrate or drain properly.

An all-purpose cactus potting soil is a good option.

I loved this mix so much I had to plant it and see how it works out.

It looks like the soil is pretty good for them…

….because they really seem to be thriving!

I’m not sure if they’re more picky about their needs or what…

….but whatever this recipe has in it seems to be working well for these plants.

All I know is that now my house smells amazing every time one of them starts growing new leaves…

Snake plants do best in soil that drains quickly or that is free-draining.

Snake plants are prone to root rot when overwatered..

..so you should not let your Snake plant sit on moist soil for a long period of time.

A garden plan like this would make sense.

The soil-less potting mix or the ready-to-use mix for cacti and succulents is highly recommended.

In terms of drainage, these soils do very well. If you only have regular potting mix or soil..

..you can add some perlite or sand.

It is best to use a potting mixture without soil for adequate drainage.

Put the saucer inside a terracotta pot so that water will drain off.

Snake plants do best with a free-draining soil mix, because they are easily prone to rot. A soilless potting mixture is best to ensure adequate drainage. Also be sure to use a terracotta pot that won’t trap water inside and promptly remove any standing water from the saucer.

The soil mix must have good drainage.

A drainage hole is important when choosing a pot.

Use a commercial potting mix designed for cacti or succulents or make your own.

Terracotta pots tend to have the perfect amount of drainage, unlike plastic pots.

Can You Add To Commercial Soil To Make Snake Plant Potting Mix Better?

There is a similarity between plants and children.

Two similar plants have different personalities and preferences.

You might need to adjust the recipe accordingly.

In case the snake plant doesn’t like the commercial mix, add a little more.

There is still a possibility of drainage issues.

The water flow in the pot can be improved by adding gravel to the bottom.

You can add pumice or perlite to a mix that doesn’t drain well.

You can add a small amount of rich potting soil (no more than 14% of the final mix)..

To make an easy mix, you need: Two parts coarse sand or perlite.

A combination of coconut coir and peat moss

Do not use garden soil on plants growing indoors.
