Why Snake Plant Bending? Amazing New Answer (2021)

June 18, 2021 by Cikal

Suppose you were growing snake plant leaves normally, giving them all the needs they need, but suddenly they were folded and  looking unattractive. snake plant bending was a problem commonly experienced with snake plant. Snake plants can be moved outside provided the shift is done gradually, and proper care is taken. When moving plants outside, you must consider their lighting and temperature requirements. It is recommended to change living conditions gradually rather than abruptly, since a sudden shift can shock the plant.

If snake plants are kept in a small pot for a long time and don’t have enough room to grow, their leaves may bend in half. The best solution is to repot your snake plant as soon as possible, since it needs it, and if not done, you will see more bends in the leaves. There is no room to grow more leaves on my snake plant because it is full of leaves.

The plants kept growing on that small pot and I didn’t realize they needed to be moved to a larger one. Occasionally, root bound snake plants are forcefully rooted, which stresses out the plants, resulting in Sansevieria root bound flowers. But I’m sticking to changing the pot because why should I cause my plant to suffer just so it blooms?

A second reason could be that it is facing too much heat and the water level on the soil keeps dropping. To resolve the bending problem, check where you are growing the snake plants and if it’s too hot, move them to a cooler location. The leaves on some of my plants were folding or curling outward, so I solved the problem by watering them on  time.

In order to deal with the heat the plants need more water if they are exposed to too much sunlight. Sun can also be a problem for snake plants if the soil is moist. Their area only received direct sunlight from 9 am to 12 am only, after which they were completely shaded.

In addition to growing faster, leaves develop more fully. What is the process? In SUN , they grow best, but only in the morning sun, and because of its intensity, they can’t grow in afternoon sun.

Root rot is caused by overwatering, the third reason.

How To Fix Snake Plant Bending

Snake plants that sag cannot be fixed and you can only cut them back to allow for new leaves to grow. To prevent this from happening, make sure you check your pot size and replace it if it is too small. It is preferable to avoid putting too much water on Snake plants so that they will not become too moist. Hanging leaves and declining leaves are the result of these two causes.

If you are growing your snake plant outdoors, use garden soil containing organic compost, which drains quickly. If you are growing it indoors, use fast-draining potting soil. Growing it in a dappled sun area is also a good idea.

Ensure the environment around your snake plant is at a temperature above about 50 degrees Fahrenheit. When the leaves of this plant become too cold, they will  droop.

If the leaves of your plant begin to droop, you should repot or move it – this is often caused by excessive moisture. Take it out of its pot, remove all the soil, rinse it thoroughly, then replant it in fresh soil or outdoors. After you repot the plant, you should cut back all drooping leaves because they won’t return. New growth, however, will be upright.

Sum Up

If you wondering why does snake plant bendings you need to check the snake plant environment first. it is get enough light? it is get enough water? how about the snake plant root? it is rot? tha’s way you will know why does snake plant bending.
