6 Plants That Help You Sleep Better Than Ever (2021)

July 12, 2021 by Peby

Are you looking for plants that help you sleep better? Then welcome to the right page! Believe me, there is nothing better than a houseplant as a roommate! Best of all, they won’t eat your food, will always be there for you, and will help you sleep well at night. While we know that plants purify the air and help you breathe better, did you know that their air-cleaning properties together with some of their other relaxing traits actually help you have a better night’s sleep? Many plants aid in sleep! Different plants help in different ways, which is interesting.

During the evening, some plants are more effective at purifying the air and making it easier to breathe since they release lots of oxygen and absorb the carbon dioxide we exhale while sleeping. Spider plants and aloe vera plants are examples of these plants.

Here’s a quick look at common VOCs. Explore the way plants purify the air and the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) they absorb to help you breathe easier.

  • Trichloroethylene is an industrial solvent used in paint, varnish, cleaning solvents, and adhesives.
  • The solvent benzene is common in gasoline, oils, rubbers, and plastics.
  • Formaldehyde is found in food bags, tissues, cleaning agents and paper towels.
  • A chemical called xylene can be found in tobacco smoke, rubber, paint, and vehicle exhaust.
  • Ammonia. This is a common ingredient in household cleaners, candle wax, and fertilizer.

Relaxing scents from plants like jasmine and gardenia as well as a peaceful night’s sleep can reduce anxiety and relieve stress. Diffusion of essential oils, making homemade incense, or keeping live plants in the bedroom will encourage their healing aromas to fill the space.

Numerous benefits can be derived from a better night’s sleep. Sleeping well increases your alertness and focus throughout the day, increases your energy, and improves your mood. Getting a good night’s sleep is key to creating these positive qualities. Here are some of our favorite plants that will help you sleep! The features that keep you comfortable during sleep, how to care for them and the best place to display them in your room were highlighted. Find out what plants are best for your bedroom in our guide below.

1. Aloe Vera (Aloe Vera)

The first on the list of plants that help you sleep better is aloe vera. You’ve probably used aloe vera gel at least once or twice in your life to relieve sunburn, but did you know that aloe vera plants can also improve your sleep? As we sleep, aloe vera releases oxygen into the air, which helps purify it and gives us a better feeling of breathing. This particular plant is helpful in purifying formaldehyde and benzene.

2. Areca Palm (Dypsis lutescens)

The large leaves of this palm create a tropical atmosphere in any room. They also function as a natural humidifier. Nighttime sinus problems can be relieved with this feature. Additionally, Areca palms can be used to remove pollutants from the air, such as formaldehyde.

3. Bamboo Palm (Chamaedorea Seifrizii)

Your entire bedroom will feel warm and fresh with bamboo palms. This palm is capable of removing airborne contaminants such as benzene and trichloroethylene.

4. Bromeliad (Bromeliaceae)

Other types of tropical plants that can clean your air while you sleep include bromeliads. Carbon dioxide is absorbed by these plants during the day and oxygen is produced in the evening. These beautiful and exotic creatures are constantly cleaning the air. To create a clean and tropical experience, place it next to one of the palm trees we mentioned earlier.

5. Chamomile (Matricaria Chamomilla)

Among other things, this herb is used to make tea, essential oils, and other items to calm and relax people. Chamomile can induce sleep and improve your chances of getting uninterrupted sleep, according to a study. To take in the relaxing and fresh fragrance all night long, place it near your bed, perhaps with a lavender plant. Chamomile blooms can also be used to make tea and oils.

6. Snake Plant (Sansevieria Trifasciata)

These plants increase the amount of oxygen in your room and help you sleep better. According to a NASA study, these plants are great for removing formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, and benzene. Viper’s bowstring hemp, also known as snake plants, are tall plants that fill empty corners of the room with a nice green touch. No wonder this plant is one of the plants that help you sleep better.
