Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensation Care Guide

The Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensation requires a bit more light compared to the other members of its genus.

However, that’s the only difference in care. Watering should still be minimal and infrequent.

The soil should be well draining. Humidity is not an issue because as long as the temperature is above 60 degrees…

….the plant will be happy. Do not spray this plant! Water drops on its leaves will cause rotting.

Plant fertilization isn’t vital. However, it can be applied twice a year at most. It is required only during the plant’s growing season.

The leaves and stalks typically have a nice evergreen color, but with white vertical stripes running across…

…their broadside, giving them a striped appearance. The stalks, on the other hand…

…are usually narrower and remain a rigid pointy shape.

In general, the Sensation grows in isolation, but it produces smaller green-white blooms in the mornings…

…and orange berries at night when two of its thriving plants grow in close proximity.

Besides the oxygen it produces, you can enjoy a pleasant, clean fragrance when you use this plant.

Placement

My professional tip, the thick, large leaves of Sansevieria can pick up dust easily below…

…so it’s paramount to wipe them clean from time to time to help the plants photosynthesize..

…especially in low light environments. Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensation is a striking variety of the foolproof Snake Plant.

This succulent plant has white vertical stripes on its thin, small leaves that are hardy and drought resistant.

It is native to West Africa and is extremely easy to care for.

With the white variegation on the leaves of the Bantel’s Sensation trees, it is a little less tolerant of low light situations…

…than your typical snake plant, so situations with extremely low light should be avoided.

If you are not certain about the lighting conditions in your home or office, we have a guide on how to measure…

…the luminous intensity in your space. Sansevieria are some of the few plants that release oxygen at night making them ideal for bedrooms.

Next Up…

Soil

Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensations are best in potting mixes for succulents and cacti since it needs good drainage.

Sometimes they are grown in peat, but as a general rule, any succulent potting mix will do the trick.

Generally, your Bantel’s Sensation shouldn’t be placed 100% inside soil.

There should always be some form of a porous substrate.

Light

Contrary to its genus’s members, the Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensations requires a bit more light.

This is due to the pattern of its white stripes. Since these white stripes can’t catch the light for photosynthesis…

…they make it much harder for the White Sansevieria to receive the calories and nutrients it needs.

To improve the white stripes’ chances, position your plant near a bright light source.

Although Bantel’s Sensation will adapt and live in light levels from full sun to shade, it prefers bright indirect light.

Lower light levels may cause its leaves to dull or darken. It is also important to keep in mind…

…that direct sunlight may burn its leaves.

Watering

Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensation is an extremely drought-tolerant plant.

The biggest mistake plant owners tend to make is to overwater it. It prefers being slightly parched…

…rather than drowning in water. During its growing season, Bantel’s Sensation requires water once every ten days.

This does not mean a greater amount is required. We only recommend adding water when the plant is actively growing.

It is important to water plants less frequently during the cold months of autumn and winter..

…as this is the natural time plants go into a type of resting period and stop growing. Watering this time is only once a month.

Water should never be poured directly on the leaves of your White Sansevieria.

Water will sit on the leaves and cause damage. Pour water directly onto the soil when watering your plant.

You should check to see if and when to water your Bantel’s Sensation if you are uncertain.

You can tell your plant requires some water by feeling the soil. White Sansevieria’s soil should be dry…

…to the touch until the tips your fingers. If the soil is still slightly wet and not completely dry…

…do not water it for another day or two. A waterlogged plant’s worst nightmare is being overwatered.

Sensation Bantel is better off if you don’t remember it. It is much better equipped for surviving with too little water.

Too much water, on the other hand, is much harder to deal with.

Go on…

Temperature

Like its parent plant, the White Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensation thrives in warmer temperatures…

…as a result of growing in arid regions of Africa. However, it is willing to adapt, as well.

Bantel’s Sensation is a flexible product that can respond to changing temperatures.

They should be stored at temperatures ranging from 13 to 29 degrees Celsius (55 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit).

Temperatures below 4 degrees Celsius (40 degrees Fahrenheit) are unethical. If the soil around your White Sansevieria is dry,

….unfortunately they’re not as tolerant. However, wet soil and cold temperatures are a recipe for disaster.

Humidity

No need to extra effort or water Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensation when it comes to humidity.

Whatever your average room humidity is, will do just fine. However, they are not partial to constant humidity.

Therefore, this is not the plant to be in your bathroom. Bantel’s Sensation should be kept out of the direct sunlight…

…behind air ducts, and away from drafts. Do not mist your Sansevieria!

Water droplets left on the leaves of this plant will cause it to rot.

Last but not least…

Fertilizer

Fertilizing your White Sansevieria is not essential. But it will not argue should you wish to give it a little bit of food.

All-purpose fertilizer will do the job. Be sure to choose a well-balanced one. Since they do not require much fertilizer…

…you should not feed them more than twice a year. Fertilizing is important during the season…

….of blooming Sansevieria Bantel’s Sensation tree. This is in the months of spring to summer.
