But all this time I never put it in my snake plant in the bedroom.

Because I’m afraid of spreading poison.

But after I asked my friend, he said it’s okay.

In fact, a snake plant in the bedroom provides many benefits.

Sansevieria trifasciata “Black Gold” (Viper’s Bowstring Hemp)..

..is one of the snake plants that are able to remove toxins and provide fresh air.

They are known for their ability to purify the air.

Watering

Low maintenance is a characteristic of all Sansevierias.

It is not necessary to water them often and they can grow even if they are neglected.

Water the soil thoroughly before allowing it to dry out completely before watering it again.

Watering is greatly influenced by the temperature and the amount of sunlight available.

In the spring and summer, watering them about once a week is sufficient.

In lower temperatures, the soil takes longer to dry out.

This explains why the nutritional requirements of the plant are also minimal.

I would recommend watering it once every two to three weeks.

Overwatering plants, such as Sansevieria trifasciata “Black Gold” (Viper’s Bowstring Hemp)..

..can be detrimental to their health.

If you give the plant too much water, the chances of them dying are high.

Water only when the soil is dry.

Lighting

It is best to plant Sansevieria trifasciata “Black Gold” (Bowstring Hemp) indoors as it is fine with any light type.

You can place them anywhere as long as it is in indirect bright to low light..

..and from partial to complete shade.

Indirect lighting, however, still remains the best choice.

To grow healthy foliage, the best light is necessary.

In early years of age, when they are at their “baby” phase and just starting to grow up..

..plants placed in the shade for months will have slower growth than those that receive enough light.

In addition to that, you may also place them in a fluorescent light.

Make sure you put the light at a proper distance if you are planning to do this.

The only risk they face is damaging or even killing them if they are placed under direct sunlight.

Temperature

Temperatures between 45 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit..

..are ideal for Sansevieria trifasciata “Black Gold” (Viper’s Bowstring Hemp).

Temperature extremes are not a problem for them.

These plants can even grow at temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit in the dry soil.

But those who live in frosty places should know that these plants cannot tolerate frost.

Plants do not like freezing temperatures.

It can damage and even kill these plants.

Even if you live in frost-prone areas..

..you should move the plants to a warm place before the frost arrives.

Humidity

Viper’s Bowstring Hemp (Sansevieria trifasciata “Black Gold”) can thrive in any humidity level.

As long as the humidity in the air is around 60%, they can survive in average levels.

Soil

Well-draining soil is necessary for growing Sansevieria trifasciata (Viper’s Bowstring Hemp).

Ideally, it should be mixed with loose powder.

For plants to be able to drain and aerate, choose a soil with sand and low peat content.

As an alternative, you can also use all-purpose cactus potting soil.

Fertilizer

If your house plants are in the spring and summer..

..fertilize them every three weeks with a balanced houseplant fertilizer.

Liquids are best since they ensure better absorption.

Overdosing on the product can cause the plant to burn or even die.

Experts always recommend using half or the stated dosage in order to avoid overfertilization.

As the plant’s growth rate and nutrition requirements decrease in the winter..

..it is necessary to stop feeding it fertilizer at the end of the summer.

Keep going…

Pot

In medium size pots and containers..

..Sansevieria trifasciata “Black Gold” (Viper’s Bowstring Hemp) can grow well.

Make sure the base has drainage holes.

Growth Zone

Sansevieria trifasciata “Black Gold” (Viper’s Bowstring Hemp) is fine to grow in USDA growth zones 2 to 11.

If you live in a zone 9 to 11, you should keep them outdoors all year round.
