This flower is lightly fragrant, however aren’t showy but are enjoyable, on mature plants cream-white flower spikes may appear.

Soil

A plant that is not well-drained and has peaty compost that does not retain water can cause the roots to rot if it is grown in a soggy medium. You can choose to have a cactus potting mix. Don’t forget to empty the saucer of any excess water that comes through the drainage holes to prevent root rot.


Lighting

As the name suggests, sansevieria cylindrica prefers full sunlight to grow. It won’t grow much in the dark. Indoors, you can grow them well by placing them near a north-facing window or sheer curtained windows. The plants will thrive in a bright light with some shade during the day if you decide to place them outdoors, as the shade helps them survive hot spells during the growing season.

Natural for the plant to grow in hot and dry areas, it cannot tolerate cold temperatures. Cold damage occurs at temperatures below 50 °F.


Fertilizer

In lean soil, snake plants can thrive. Snake plant cylindrica do not need much fertilizer to grow. A succulent fertilizer diluted to half strength every month from spring to fall is a good time to feed them. During the winter, fertilizer is not necessary.


Watering

Between waterings, allow the soil to dry out. The plants need to be watered every week to twice a week. During the winter, you should water the plants roughly once a month.


Repot

If you place snake plant cylindrica in low light conditions, they will grow slowly. Repotting will not be necessary for several years. If, however, your plant is overcrowded in its container/pot, you should consider repotting it in spring.

Considering that this plant grows top heavy, a wider container is best. You can then transfer the snake plant that was overcrowded into a pot one size larger. You should wait a few days before watering the plant regularly after it settles into its new container. With a new pot, you only need to water sparingly as an adjustment step.


How to Propagate Snake Plant Cylindrica

Rhizomes are responsible for their growth. If you wish to propagate the plant, they send offshoots that can be separated with a sharp knife. The plant must grow 6 inches tall before you can fertilize it.

You can also take leaf cuttings. Cutting the leaves off with a sharp knife from the roots of the rosette. Put the cutting in a new pot. The cuttings should be at least 2 to 4 inches long and planted upright to ensure growth.

This plant contains poisonous saponins that can cause sickness in cats or other pets, so keep them out of reach.
